Stewardship can be described as action, rooted in knowledge, in care of ourselves, our families, our communities, Democracy, and the land. This session will explore strategies to grow a school culture of stewardship through intergenerational partnerships with adults and students. Hear how RCOE supported area high schools for systemic impact and change by using stewardship as an organizing principle with regard to educational excellence. Gain ideas from area school leaders and explore the essential question, “How do we elevate teaching and leading to prepare young people beyond college and career readiness, toward a preparedness to give back to the communities where they are from, to care and heal harm, and to be positive contributors in their community and beyond?” This session will include live music, spoken word, and visual arts to address complex educational challenges.
