Diversity-Equity-Inclusion
Youth Equity Stewardship (YES), is the only multi-generational equity pathway that activates and sustains authentic partnerships between adults and students which lead to cultivating a compelling, vibrant, and culturally responsive-sustaining learning community. This pathway is a systemic collaborative inquiry model that builds capacity to advance the seven principles of equity stewardship.
Learners of all ages collaborate through music, movement, and the visual arts to activate a “head and heart connection” with the goal of creating a student-led advisory to address complex educational challenges using an asset-based, solution-oriented process that drives continuous improvement.
High School Youth Equity Stewardship
A cohort of students and adults from across the district are trained (over five sessions throughout the year) to be YES ambassadors, prepared to organize intergenerational coalitions, deliver equity stewardship professional development, work with peers, present and advocate at governing board meetings, organize community events and work with younger students in their district.

Youth Equity Stewardship

Elementary and Middle Youth Equity Stewardship
Students and teachers in the 4th-8th grades engage in arts-based experiences and age-appropriate discussions while working to develop skills and learn strategies to impact their school community as Equity Stewards. Participants focus on their personal journey, justice for all, and community action and will become certified Stewardship Schools through a two day, site level experience.
