Matt Alber is a Grammy® Award-winning recording artist, documentary filmmaker, and educator based in Portland, Oregon and has been working with students as a professional teaching artist for nearly 25 years both in the US and abroad. He has served the US State Department as an official Artist Diplomat working with young artists in Sudan, Kosovo, Russia, Hungary & Finland. Stateside, his documentary films focus on celebrating the stories of Queer artists and have premiered as official selections at Hollywood’s OUTFEST® and New York’s NEWFEST®. And since 2019, Matt has been working at the elementary school level as a Lead Facilitator of Youth Equity Stewardship helping entire grades to practice cross-cultural empathy and address equity challenges through two-day, intensive arts-based in-school retreats.
