We can all agree that peer assessment is important if we want students to take ownership of their learning and that’s great when the educators understand this.
It is even better when the students can speak to the importance of this practice and how honest feedback coming from a peer can help them grow.
In this video from Petrides in Staten Island, NY, we observe a round table discussion where the principal asks students for feedback on assessments in the classroom. What can we say about assessments in helping students learn.
Students respond with ideas on using success criteria and the rubric and how to plan next steps. The quality of the discussion is rich and is completely worth the watch.
What can you adjust in your own practice using what you learn from this discussion? Please share
