Before consulting, Michelle Stone taught in New York City and Long Island public schools for over 15 years. In her national work with school districts, she customizes reading and writing curricula and empowers teachers to meet the ever-changing needs of their students in literacy successfully. She has co-authored interactive read-aloud units and curated book lists for districts that teach in-depth reading skills and promote student language development. In 2022, she co-authored Informational Writing Mini-Lessons: Your Go-To Guide for Flexible, High-Impact Instruction. Michelle co-founded The Living Literacy Network in response to the need for a more authentic approach to professional development, rather than a “one size fits all,” program-based philosophy for teaching reading and writing.
