In this video, second grade students in Mrs. Auten’s class reflect on their reading strategies. Using Sown to Grow, each youngster can easily share their reflections with their teacher.

Mrs. Auten sets up the activity by reminding students to review the anchor poster with the various strategies they’ve used on it. Students go up to the poster to determine which ones they have used and how they are successful.

After determining which three strategies they have used, students are challenged to explore why they useful. In the video, Mrs. Auten asks the student to share her reflection.

Students are able to select strategies and then specifically share why and how they worked. Wouldn’t this be a great tool to try out in your classroom?

If you use Sown to Grow already, we’d love to hear how this tool is working out for you.
