What is the evidence telling us?
When the Evidence Doesn’t Tell the Whole Story
Schools already have academic data, learning evidence, student experience, family perspectives, and educator insight. Too often, those sources are examined separately. Human-Centered Data Services bring them together to make the invisible visible—helping teams uncover opportunity gaps, create pathways to core learning, strengthen learner agency, and expand access to rigor. The result is clearer priorities and evidence that leads to meaningful action.

Opportunity gaps are differences in students’ access to the instruction, support, and learning experiences they need to thrive. We bring academic data, learning evidence, and student, family, and educator perspectives together to reveal patterns across grades, student groups, and schools and examine the conditions that may be contributing.
We interpret this evidence through research-informed lenses: the Active View of Reading and disciplinary literacy for reading, and algebraic reasoning and readiness for mathematics. These lenses help us look beneath overall scores, explore what may be getting in the way of learning, and identify where further evidence is needed. The analysis gives teams clear priorities for strengthening instruction, aligning support, and expanding opportunity.
The Analysis Helps Teams:
- Reveal patterns across grades, groups, and schools.
- Look beneath overall scores.
- Examine conditions influencing access and learning.
- Identify where additional evidence is needed.
- Prioritize instructional and system responses

Human-Centered MTSSâ„¢ Blueprint
The Human-Centered MTSSâ„¢ Blueprint creates a clear pathway to core learning for every student. Using the Active View of Reading and algebraic readiness as research-informed lenses, we estimate what each learner needs, identify evidence to confirm those needs, and outline the focus, intensity, and anticipated duration of support. This helps schools plan purposeful interventions with realistic timelines.
Each pathway builds the foundations students need to participate and succeed in grade-level learning. Progress checks help teams adjust instruction, determine when intervention has accomplished its purpose, and move students forward with greater confidence and independence. The goal is timely, effective support that opens access to core learning.
The Blueprint Helps Schools:
- Confirm specific learner needs.
- Define the focus of support.
- Determine intensity and anticipated duration.
- Create purposeful intervention pathways.
- Monitor progress and adjust instruction.
- Move learners toward greater independence
Human-Centered MTSSâ„¢ Blueprint
Create pathways to core learning.
Voice to Action
Voice to Action helps schools understand the system through the people who experience it. We gather and analyze student, family, and educator perspectives using the Learner Agency Tree as a lens for understanding the conditions that help students take an active role in their learning.
We explore whether students feel known and valued, understand their learning goals, have meaningful opportunities to make decisions, and receive the support they need to act on those decisions. These perspectives reveal strengths and barriers that academic data alone may miss. We help teams turn what they hear into clear priorities and meaningful action, then close the feedback loop so people can see how their voices shaped decisions and what is changing.
Voice to Action Helps Teams:
- Gather student, family, and educator perspectives.
- Examine belonging, clarity, voice, and agency.
- Identify strengths and barriers academic data may miss.
- Translate lived experience into clear priorities.
- Turn voice into meaningful action.
- Close the feedback loop.
Voice to Action
Listen deeply. Strengthen agency.
Making Rigor Visible
Making Rigor Visible helps schools understand how students experience rigor and what enables them to succeed. We use a research-informed lens that connects foundational learning, deeper disciplinary understanding, and transfer with learner identity, agency, and support. Rigor includes how students build understanding, guide their learning, and apply what they know in meaningful ways.
We bring classroom observations, curriculum and assessment materials, student and educator perspectives, and learning evidence together to understand the larger learning journey. This helps schools identify where expectations, instruction, and support align and where changes could expand access to rigorous learning. Findings become clear priorities for school improvement.
The Analysis Examines:
- Foundational learning
- Deeper disciplinary understanding
- Transfer and application
- Learner identity and agency
- Expectations and instructional design
- Access to support and rigorous learning
Making Rigor Visible
Expand access to deeper learning.
